Kitchen Towel (purple set) by Nathalie Pasquier
NATHALIE DU PASQUIER
Kitchen Towels (Purple Set)
19 7/8 x 25 1/2 inches
Silkscreen on Cotton Blend
Throughout the 1980s the acclaimed Memphis Group changed the face of design using uncoventional materials, historic forms, kitsch motifs and gaudy colours. Launched at the 1981 Salone del Mobile, Milan, their unconventional approach to architecture, furniture design and art challenged trends of the time and resulted in what was coined as the ‘New International Style’. Nathalie Du Pasquier was one of the founding members of the group and from their outset her playful textile designs formed a key component of their work; they helped to define not only the aesthetic of the Memphis-Milano Movement, but also the quintessential post-modern aesthetic of the decade.
This 100% cotton blend tea towel by Nathalie Du Pasquier is great in the kitchen or as a hostess gift. The set includes two patterns with hanging loops designed by the artist. One being the purple bird image, and the other as her polka-dot structured image.
