Much of the work by British artist Rachel Whiteread studies the void or empty space surrounding a given object. and the artist designed this daybed with the same interests in mind. This custom Daybed takes the form of the empty space beneath a bed; the undulating surface pattern is the form taken beneath the mattress springs; and the four vertical holes signify the bedposts.
